Pottery | Tradition Matters

Cypriot pottery tradition: In Cyprus our pottery and ceramic tradition goes back centuries. The most famous pottery related villages used to be Varosy, Lapythos, Fini and Kornos. Pottery has been part of the Cypriot tradition for so long that there is not a single house that does not possess at least one item of ceramic produced in Cyprus. The relation of our island and pottery is deep, just like its clay, which locals find in the ground. By simply adding a few drops of water to the clay it is ready for pottery use. The ceramics we display at Phaneromenis 70 are made by a family which have kept this tradition alive making all these unique pieces of pottery especially for our shop.
